| Smaller learning communities hold great promise as an innovation for addressing the complexities of high school redesign. This interactive presentation with Rose Owens-West, Senior Project Director at WestEd, will examine how smaller learning communities effectively address many of the significant challenges facing high schools today. |
This event will outline how smaller learning communities address:
- the research supporting smaller learning communities;
- modernizing the curriculum to adequately prepare students for postsecondary life;
- educating students who are performing far below their grade level standards;
- providing meaningful and appropriate professional development for teachers; and
- redesigning the operations of huge schools.
