This Chicago Public Schools publication takes a look at how walkthroughs, a strategy for school administrators to quickly visit classrooms and provide instructional feedback to teachers, have worked in New York's District 2. The article stresses that although principals can easily implement walkthroughs, they require a major culture change in the school to one of improving teaching, not just supervision and evaluation. The article stresses the importance of collaboration between the district administrators and educators, and the fact that the practices evolved over time. It also discusses some of the problems encountered when San Diego implemented the walkthrough strategy.
