This blueprint is the second in the series of three Blueprints. The District Level Blueprint is available, and the state-level counterpart is forthcoming. The purpose of the series is to provide a framework around which implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) can be built. The blueprint enumerates the steps within each of the three stages of developing an RTI program: consensus building, infrastructure building, and implementation.
This School Building Level Blueprint outlines the components of a school-level strategy to implement RTI district-wide and provide ongoing support to individual sites. As every school and student population is unique, the framework allows for flexibility in selecting practices consistent with the basic principles of creating school-based RTI programs. For each of the three stages of implementation, there are several actions and steps. Each step is displayed in a matrix with resources available and “wisdom from the field” from many RTI implementations throughout the United States. A school building level self-assessment tool is keyed to the overall document.
