Description
The webinar is designed to help districts as they build a comprehensive assessment model on a local level. It serves as a continuation of the webinar, Common Core Standards: Transitioning to New Rigor.
The Common Core State Standards call for a new, powerful view of education. Teaching and assessing the standards are not enough. Districts need an integration of systems and a culture of change. This SchoolsMovingUp webinar will review how districts can think about the new rigor required in building a local comprehensive assessment system.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
- Decisions faced by districts across the country when considering aligning curriculum with the Common Core State Standards and building an integrated assessment system to meet the requirements of the new rigor.
- Creighton School District's (Arizona) approach to assessment and working with WestEd.
- Districts' use of Assessment Technology Incorporated's comprehensive assessment system in meeting the assessment and instructional challenges inherent in the Common Core State Standards.
Presenters from the Comprehensive School Assistance Program at WestEd include Joe Sassone, Director of Integrated Services; Robert Rosenfeld, Associate Director of the Local Accountability Professional Series; and Elizabeth Jameyson, Senior Program Associate. Creighton School District (Arizona) staff presenters include Lynne Spiller, Ed.D, Director of Research and Evaluation. Presenters from Assessment Technology Incorporated include Jason Kane Feld, Ph.D., Vice President, Corporate Projects and Craig Mayhew, B.S., Field Services Director.
